Edel is committed – tradition and innovation have always been a top priority at our candy factory. Our history, spanning over 160 years, is both an inspiration and a commitment for us – to carefully produce nostalgic and modern candy specialties of the highest quality. With over 250 different varieties, Edel offers one of the most extensive ranges of its kind. We are one of the few candy manufacturers worldwide that still masters the fine art of producing genuine silk-gloss candies. Despite the use of machines, there is still a lot of manual work involved, which requires the skill of experienced confectioners. This expertise is passed down from generation to generation. Edel Bonbon wants to preserve this piece of nostalgia and thus deliberately sets itself apart from mass or cheap producers. Our goal is to bring the traditional art of candy making into the modern age in order to give people the experience of very special moments of enjoyment – today and tomorrow.

High-quality raw materials – masterfully processed
At Eduard Edel, we place great importance on using the best ingredients and paying attention to detail. For example, we use
- Fresh whole milk and cream in our classic milk candies.
- We even boil our own herbal teas for numerous herbal candies, such as sage, elderberry, and ribwort plantain.
- High-quality fruit pulp in the delicious fillings for our fruit candies such as strawberry, apple, or sea buckthorn.
- Real Jamaican rum for our milk rum candies and original egg liqueur in the production of our egg liqueur pillows.
These high-quality ingredients also deserve masterful treatment. Under the supervision of our production masters, we create candy specialties that are appreciated and recognized worldwide.
We have also always tried to produce as many types of candies as possible using natural plant extracts instead of colorants and natural flavors, long before this became a general trend in the industry.

Innovation and custom manufacturing – close to the customer

Innovation is also part of Edel: in addition to new flavors and packaging, we are also introducing new production methods such as sugar-free/low-sugar candies, organic candies, and candies with real inclusions (see image). We also always try to respond to customer requests in the best way possible. We are very flexible when it comes to custom-made products, promotional candies, or private label solutions, and we are happy to pick up on new trends and suggestions—hence our motto “creative, competent, customer-oriented.”
Certified quality
Eduard Edel GmbH demonstrates the consistent quality of its candies at the annual DLG tests. In 2025, the DLG awarded the company its prize for long-standing product quality for the 12th time in a row.
We also have an approved HACCP concept and have been certified by IFS Global Markets (since 2025: IFS Progress Food).
We are also certified for the production of organic candies by the BIO inspection body DE-ÖKO-006 and, as a traditional Bavarian company, we produce the geographically protected variety “Echt bayrisch Blockmalz ggA”, which is also inspected and certified.
In 2019, we received the Bavarian Export Award in the “Genussland” category for our international commitment. We are proud of these awards and they motivate us to continue supplying traditional, high-quality sweets all over the world in the future.
